Description
7 Board Feet of quality, 8/4 thick, Honduran MahoganyThe lumber was kiln dried, and has been air dried for many years.
This boards was cut from old, seasoned, very high quality Honduran mahogany.
Honduran Mahogany is also called Genuine Mahogany or South American Mahogany.
The scientific name is
Swietenia macrophylla.
The board measures 60 inches long, and 8 1/2 inches wide
Actual board thickness is at least 2 inches.
Each side of the board is pictured.
The board is flat (no cup, twist or bow), and is planed, sawn on all faces and edges (S4S). It is not finished planed or jointed, but surfaced to reveal the features, and remove the rough saw marks. No end checking at all. 100% clear.
There are some sparsely placed, very small, tiny, worm holes visible on ONLY ONE face, along PART OF ONE edge. These marks extend in no more than ABOUT AN INCH.
I tried to show these in the last picture, but they are very small and hard to see. The lumber was not and, is not, infested. These marks were very likely made on the live tree, or the log before it was milled. They will easily fill in with sawdust or pore filler, or they can be trimmed off, or hidden, left as is, etc. I am describing them here because I want the buyer to get a complete, accurate, description of the lumber.
