Monsignor's Dress Cassock Red Buttons & Piping Tailor Made Vintage Pockets FINE

A vintage clerical cassock, specifically made for one of the Monsignor's rank in the Catholic Church, is offered here. This was donated from a Canadian bishop's estate to a religious community in my area, proceeds from the sale going towards support of their various charities. The bishop did not use this monsignor's cassock for very long before being raised to the episcopal rank, thus- it is graded in quite FINE condition, hardly showing any signs if wear.
This is an excellent tailor-made garment, but with no indication of its specific maker. It features red thread covered buttons running down the front, two small front pockets at the waist, and two 7” long side pocket openings. There are also two chest pockets for holding pens and accessories, see photo #7. The interior is silk lined including slightly padded shoulders, and there is a small tab system for slightly holding up the skirt in the back as an aid against tripping (see photo #8). The piece has red lined interior skirt edging and hemmed double pleats at the rear.
This would ideally fit a smaller sized person. It measures 58” long from center back neckline to lowest edge of the skirt, 18” across from one shoulder seam to the other, 6 3/8” diameter neck opening, 15 1/2” long sleeve length measured from underarm to outer cuff edge, waist approx. 32” diameter. Circa 1950s/60s in age, probably made in Canada; just the cassock is offered here; no belt or other accessories came with the cassock.
